Caramel egg pudding is a very high calorie food. Very healthy food for children and all age groups. Very easy to prepare in the microwave or on gas. Learn how to make caramel egg pudding.
INGREDIENTS:
- SUGAR-1 CUP
- CUSTARD POWDER -2 tsp
- EGGS-4
- MILK-500 ML
- VANILLA EXTRACT- 1/2 tsp
- GRATED ALMOND -5 [for garnish.
METHOD
- Boil the milk in a pan, keep aside to cool.
- Beat eggs with an egg beater.
- Add sugar, custard powder and milk mix together.
- Add vanilla extract keep aside
-ON GAS
- Caramel preparation -Put the 3 tsp sugar and 2 tsp water in a thick bottomed sauce pan over low flame.
- Stirling continuously , until sugar dissolves.
- When the sugar turns into a rich brown color . Remove from flame.
- Keep aside to cool. After pouring egg batter in the caramel bowl.
- Take an idli steamer, pour enough water to come to 1/2 the level of the bowl.
- Place the bowl in the water cover with the plate.
- Idli steamer also cover with the lid. Keep it on medium flame.
- Then steam for 20 minutes. Remove from flame.
- Cool it , and keep it in refrigerator for about 1 hour
- Before serving garnish with grated almonds....
On microwave ;
- Put [pudding] batter bowl in a microwaveable container with water.
- Water filled up to the level of the pudding, doe’s not spill over into the pudding.
- Then cover the whole with a plastic wrapper.
- Microwave for 7 minutes until it comes to bubbles give to standing time for a few minutes.
- Remove from the flame and cool it .When it cools , then keep in refrigerator about 1 hour .
NOTE .
Whenever you make a steamed pudding, it is very important to ensure that water or steam does not come in contact with the pudding mixture. So just take care about this.
